Chinese rockets…

Instead of roman candles, Chinese fireworks.
Over the past two or three weeks Chinese stocks have been rocketing upward. We know from nothing about the fundmentals of these stocks, but the chart patterns are inflamatory — or on fireworks.

Bunch of ETFs. Check ‘em out.

As everyone knows we are skeptical of the bear market rally.
But as everyone knows we are not skeptical of charts, and the charts of a bunch of ETFs are buyable. As always stops should be well placed in case it’s all fool’s gold. Technical stops are pretty broad in these cases because of the run up but you can always use a money management stop — in these cases we would think 5-8%

Here we go being clever again….

We’re selling GLD gold today, based on what might be an exhaustion gap up and downgap. We think (based on gut, no analysis involved) that the breakout is not going to occur yet. If you want to sit through the downwave (and there may not be one) you’ll be all right in the long run. We just think that a trading tactic here is justified, especially with the dollar rebounding. When this becomes a trend market we will ride it all the way. That time is coming.
