The State of the Markets February 2003

It is necessary to reply to the State of the Union address with the State of the Markets Letter, a major letter.

At major turning points we publish an MTP letter. We presently see no major turning point in view so we have decided to examine the present markets for opportunities and dangers in order to present a coherent investment policy for the foreseeable future. In such an exercise as this we recommended the purchase of the Euro at $.82 in 2000 and 2001. At that time we also recommended a procedure to take advantage of the expected return to parity of the Euro--that is the purchase of Euro denominated bonds for risk averse investors. To be informed prior to publication email: SOMLetter@edwards-magee.com. A prepublication heads-up will result if something can't wait for the entire letter.

This letter will be published sometime in February.
