As always email spammers and scammers continue to come over the ramparts like Zulus (in the movie of the same name – don’t miss it.  One of the classic movies about management in crisis).  So I am adopting the following procedure.  I would appreciate it if you would put only a code word in the subject of your emails to me and to johnmageeTA.   Some of the code words which can be used:

 jmta = for matters pertaining to the web newsletter

ggu = for students, ex-students and Golden Gate University matters

bass biz = personal and family

TAST = matters relating to my books and publishing

Shake-speare = matters relating to Shakespeare studies and literary affairs

Busy, busy, busy = for Bokononists and anarchists and old friends

SEC = re my crusades at the SEC  (see below)

Or put in some code word I will recognize (Pamplona, Spain, beer, Rioja,  toros bravos, etc)

One particularly annoying genera of spam is the pump-and-dump touting of penny stocks.  I am filing a petition with the SEC to identify these questionable stocks and immediately stop trading in their issues when this spam is detected.  If you are interested in participating drop me an email.  Other issues I have with the SEC will be discussed in the future.
