ETFs of importance, EEB and NYC

091201nycA bit of a strange pattern here on the NYC (represents the NYSE stocks), but NYC is an important ETF — and one of the three recommended and used by our friend and colleague, Jack Schannep (thedowtheory.com) who has had a brilliant record in the recovery from the crash (and was short or out before that).

ETFs. EEB, FXE INP, ETC. ETC

091110eebSome months ago we reviewed a basic list of ETFs, pointing out that a large group were buyable.  We just looked at this group again and found most of them not only still in uptrends, but probably buyable.  The best of these are probably EEB and FXE, but INP, IAI, FXI are reasonable — as is even (gag) RTH (we don’t like retail in general, and in fact try not to go into retail stores.)

090521eebAs may be seen EEb has broken out.  While we are short the S&P and suspicious of all these breakouts you still have to take obvious trades.  The way to dap down risk is to divide your capital commitment to this — or any issue — into 3-7 tranches and just commit one unit to the initial trade, then add on if the trend proves true.  And then, of course, it goes without saying that  a stop is placed under the immediate low — about 3-5%.
