Sold the euro. Good trade. Still short.

Though not into hype or chest beating (except when about to grab a jungle vine and swing with Jane) the euro trade deserves to be recalled. We bought UUP which is a way to play it — more or less like taking a shower in a raincoat. Had this been done in the FX markets ….

Fool’s errand.

At 10:27 San Francisco time with the market looking like this we increased our hedges and are now net short the indices. As we said earlier attempting to trade these minor waves is a fool’s errand. Of course we have an analysis, and it is based on the earlier intraday chart, which shows a prevailing short term downtrend.

Is Apple going to 1,500? And if not, why not?

We do love Apple. We have made dozens of studies of it and use it as an example all the time. For some weird reason we have never owned it, although our analyses have been extremely accurate. Just one of those funny things like loving Sandra Bullock, but never owning her.
