FXE. GLD. Broken rules, broken trades

We are hedging our silver and gold trades with 2x ETFs, GLL (gold) and ZSL (silver) and taking handsome profits in PGM, platinum.
Yesterday we broke a rule to exit the FXE short euro trade, not waiting for our stop to be hit. Bad timing. Time to short the euro.
Oh well, no one is perfect, which was what we had begun to think of ourselves.

FXE. Time to get off the short euro train.

Never ones to beat a dead horse or kick a sleeping dog or throw stones at wasp nests (even in Boston) or store thrones in glass houses we’re ready to abandon the short euro trade.
When this market turns it will tear your head off. But its time has not come yet.

A diller a dollar — fun and games in the Euro…

Looking for readers who took our clever suggestion to short the euro traders and market mischief makers took out people who had their stops too close to the high. Good market making and specializing!
Traders who took our advice and put their stops 2% above the high are whistling merrily and thumbing their noses at the specialists, as the stop would have been at 153.20.

Short the Euro. Party’s over.

We just said that to get you riled up. But… We think there is a low risk trade in shorting the euro. The stop is just over the nearest high by 1% or so, or by watching the hourly bars for a breakout and power bars. This is for aggressive traders only.

UUP is Down (no brainer)

In September we saw a sell signal in the dollar, as indicated on the chart. A gap down. Good practice, following the marked Basing Point would keep the trader short up to the present, in spite of the rally of early November.
This could have been done by short the UUP or by long the FXE:
