ETFs. EEB, FXE INP, ETC. ETC

Some months ago we reviewed a basic list of ETFs, pointing out that a large group were buyable. We just looked at this group again and found most of them not only still in uptrends, but probably buyable. The best of these are probably EEB and FXE, but INP, IAI, FXI are reasonable — as is even (gag) RTH (we don’t like retail in general, and in fact try not to go into retail stores.)

Stranger and stranger said the Red Queen…

With the major indices taking off like the space shuttle it is strange that the basic group of ETFs is so recumbent. We looked at the basic list and found a mess of them with uninspiring charts. The indices are making new highs and these ETFs are basically listless: IAI (brokers), MOO (cows) RTH (retail), XHB… The IWM (Russell) is in this class, and even the oil, USO is mostly sideways.

Bunch of ETFs. Check ‘em out.

As everyone knows we are skeptical of the bear market rally.
But as everyone knows we are not skeptical of charts, and the charts of a bunch of ETFs are buyable. As always stops should be well placed in case it’s all fool’s gold. Technical stops are pretty broad in these cases because of the run up but you can always use a money management stop — in these cases we would think 5-8%
